Cookie Policy
Effective Date: May 6, 2026 ยท Last Updated: May 6, 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how Broadimage ("we", "us") uses cookies and similar technologies on the contributor portal at upload.broadimage.com.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by your web browser when you visit a website. Similar technologies โ including localStorage, sessionStorage, and the IndexedDB API โ also store information on your device. Together, we refer to these as "cookies and similar technologies" throughout this policy.
Cookies allow websites to remember your preferences, keep you signed in across pages, and operate features that depend on saved state.
2. How we categorize what we use
Broadimage's contributor portal uses cookies and similar technologies in four categories. We use only what is necessary for the contributor application to function, plus a small set of functional preferences.
Strictly Necessary
Required for the contributor portal to work โ sign-in, session persistence, contributor account access, dashboard state, upload session continuity. You cannot disable these without breaking the application.
Functional
Remember your preferences (language, region, dashboard layout, last-viewed archive section) so you do not have to set them every visit.
Analytics
None currently in use on upload.broadimage.com.
Marketing / Advertising

3. Specific technologies we use
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
cognito:tokens |
sessionStorage / localStorage | Stores your authenticated session tokens (issued by AWS Cognito) so you remain signed in across page navigation. Strictly necessary for contributor account access. | Session (sessionStorage) or until sign-out (localStorage if "remember me" selected) |
lang / nativeLang |
localStorage | Remembers your selected language so the portal loads in the correct language on subsequent visits. Functional. | Until you clear browser storage |
broadimage_authenticated / auth_time |
localStorage | Tracks authentication state for the contributor dashboard. Strictly necessary. | Until sign-out |
| Dashboard preferences | localStorage | Saves dashboard view state, archive filters, recent search, and similar UI preferences. Functional. | Until you clear browser storage |
4. Third-party services that may set their own cookies
Broadimage does not embed third-party advertising or social-media tracking pixels on the contributor portal. However, certain operational features rely on third-party services that may set their own cookies or process data on your behalf:
- AWS (Amazon Web Services) โ provides authentication (Cognito), media hosting (S3), API gateways, and content delivery for the contributor pipeline. AWS may set technical cookies for load balancing and security. See AWS Privacy Notice.
- ipapi.co โ used for IP-based language detection on first visit. We send your IP address; the service returns a country code. We do not store the IP. See ipapi.co privacy.
- Google Fonts / Cloudflare CDN โ used to load the Poppins typeface and Font Awesome icon library. These services may log technical request data. See Google Privacy Policy.
- Google reCAPTCHA (when present on forms) โ protects forms from automated abuse. Google may set cookies for fraud detection. See Google Terms.
5. How to control cookies
You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings:
Note: disabling Strictly Necessary cookies will prevent you from signing in or accessing the contributor dashboard.
6. Do Not Track
Broadimage does not currently respond to "Do Not Track" (DNT) browser signals because no industry consensus exists on how to interpret them. We do not use cross-site tracking or behavioral advertising regardless of DNT status.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy. The "Last Updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change. Material changes will be highlighted on the portal or via your registered email if you have a contributor account.
