About Broadimage Contributors
A worldwide network of editorial photographers covering sports, entertainment, news, royalty, and street style. Rights-managed distribution. Royalty-tracked. Credited every time.
Who we are
Broadimage is a California-registered editorial photo and video agency, headquartered in Los Angeles with a bureau in New York. Since 2008, we've built one of the most extensive networks of contributing photographers in editorial coverage — covering the moments where culture, politics, sport, and entertainment meet the public eye.
The contributor portal at upload.broadimage.com is where photographers submit work for global distribution. Our editorial team reviews, captions, indexes, and distributes accepted content to editors, talent agencies, public-relations firms, and brands worldwide.
What we cover
Broadimage's contributor network covers five primary editorial categories:
- Sports — international competition, championships, leagues, athletes
- Entertainment — film, television, theater, awards shows, movie premieres
- News — breaking news, political, cultural, civic events
- Royalty — coverage of royal families and state events worldwide
- Street Style — fashion week, off-duty, cultural moments
Subcategories include fashion, red carpet, music, awards shows, movie premieres, talent portraits, paparazzi-style candid coverage, and editorial-standard features.
How contributing works
1. Apply to join the network
Sign up at upload.broadimage.com. Our editorial team reviews applications based on portfolio quality, editorial relevance, and licensing track record. Contributors range from established wire photographers to specialist freelancers covering specific markets.
2. Upload & metadata
Accepted contributors upload through the contributor dashboard. Each submission must include accurate IPTC metadata — caption, date, location, identification, photographer credit, and copyright notice. Our pipeline preserves and augments contributor metadata; we never strip or alter your credit line.
3. Review & distribution
Our editors review submitted content for editorial standards, factual accuracy, and quality. Accepted content is distributed worldwide to verified licensees through our direct customer relationships and through our distribution-partner network. You retain copyright; Broadimage is the licensed distributor.
4. Royalty & payment
Royalties are tracked per license. Statements are issued on a regular cadence with detailed reporting per image, per customer, per use type. Payment terms and rate cards are defined in your Contributor Submission Agreement.
Our standards
Broadimage produces and distributes editorial imagery to professional standards consistent with the global wire-service tradition:
- Captioned, dated, and credited. Every image carries IPTC metadata identifying the photographer, event, location, and date — and travels with the file end-to-end.
- No staged or AI-fabricated imagery. Editorial coverage represents events as they occurred. Our contributor agreement prohibits synthetic and AI-generated content from the editorial pipeline.
- Photographer rights respected. Contributors retain copyright in their work; Broadimage operates as licensed distributor for the territories and uses the agreement covers.
- Truthful editorial use. Our license terms with buyers prohibit defamatory use, misleading editing, and use in contexts that materially misrepresent the people or events depicted.
Why join Broadimage
Worldwide distribution
Editorial buyers in every major market reach our archive. Direct relationships plus distributor passthrough means your work has a global path to license.
Editorial-only positioning
Broadimage is editorial-only by default. Your work isn't quietly relicensed to advertisers without your knowledge — commercial use requires a separate addendum and your participation.
Wire-service tier
We operate to the standards photojournalists and wire photographers expect: accurate captions, credited bylines, fast turnaround on hot-news coverage, and clean handling of embargoed content.
Pipeline transparency
Every license is tracked. Every royalty is reported. Audit rights are spelled out in the Contributor Submission Agreement.
